David graduated with an MFA from Massey University in 2014. He has been short listed on numerous occasions for the Wallace Art Award, NZ Painting and Printmaking Award, Parkin Drawing Prize, and Wellington Regional Art Award. He was also the recipient winner of the Wellington Regional Art Award in 2014 and received a merit in the NZ Painting and Printmaking Award in 2015. His art practice has both a 2 dimensional and 3-dimensional output, which includes some large-scale public artworks/murals within the Wellington area. His artmaking interest lies in using the parameters of geometric art to include a socio-conscious narrative that has a foundation in human and animal coexistence.
