Artworks: Georgie Johnson

Georgie Johnson is a Pōneke/Wellington visual artist and writer. She graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and English Literature. Her drawings primarily utilise ink and gouache on cotton paper. Georgie’s writing has been published in Headland and Starling journal, and her visual art has been exhibited at Brunswick St Gallery in Melbourne and local artist run events and galleries.

Georgie is fascinated with social narratives, histories and human behaviour. She deconstructs space and form to reengineer imagined states and alternate realities. Her practice is process driven – she works instinctively and embraces risk.
